A companion to Ralph Fiennes (1995).
A torrent of a Hollywood blockbuster adapts a futurist narrative for the advancement of moist reality, in which the hierarchy between “real” and “virtual”, “access vs. ownership”, becomes obscured and or irrelevant. The video is comprised of digital animation and footage of the Kathryn Bigelow film Strange Days. Released in 1995, but set in 1999 LA, the film depicts an apocalyptic future, devoid of millennial optimism where the escapism of virtual reality is the greatest fix.
